Not so Little Anymore *sad face*

Well today was Emma's first day of Kindergarten with Miss Wolf, at Clara Love Elementary, she is officially a "Little Texan". It is amazing to watch your kids grow up so fast. Surprisingly the only person that was crying...Ann Marie. No, she was not mourning the loss of her sister, she was crying because she didn't get to stay and color a picture. Poor little sisters always trailing behind their big sisters...we will do something special today.

Summer Love

Recently our ward has been changed. our boundries changed and we were moved to a new building. As such we had a few members join, one little boy, Hunter, happens to be in Emmas class. This post will review the summer romance or Emma and Hunter

Day 1 Sunday, July 5th, 2009

I sat in front of this cute boy in Sacrament meeting today. I couldn't keep my eyes off him, I kept turning around so much it was driving my parents crazy. He has blazing red hair, I know our kids would be just absolutely adorable.

What Luck! the cute boy is 5 and is in my CTR5 class. I just found out his name is Hunter, I wish I had something cute to say to him to get his attention.

Emma: As she hands Hunter a small heart trinket, "I love you"
Hunter: Handing emma back the Trinket "I love you"
Emma: "We are in love"

He Loves Me!!! I am sad that church will be over soon and it will be so long before I see him again.

Day 2-7

Everyday I think about Hunter, I have even told my parents about him. They laugh. I know I will marry him. I wish I could have invited him to my birthday party I can't wait to see him again.

Day 8 Sunday, July 12th, 2009

My Granny called today to wish me happy birthday. I told her all about Hunter, she says to make sure I get married in the temple...I will.

I can't wait to get back to church and she his beautiful red hair...ooooh he is so cute.

As I run to find my seat in the chapel I see him, I turn around and flash my most beautiful smile and wave. I ask my mom if I can go sit with him, but she says no. I will see him in class again.

On our way home I hear my parents talking about inviting his family over for dinner, I am so nervous, am I actually going to meet his parents so soon. Is this going to fast I wonder?

Well I'm sure those were not Emma's thoughts exactly, but now you atleast have an idea of what we have been going through for the last week. It's kinda cute, Hunter's parents keep talking to us at church about all the cute things they do in primary. I hope Emma doesnt get carried away, all little girls go through this stage...Right?

How Much I Love to Fly

I've been meaning to post this for a while because I found it utterly hilarious and also realized how much the airlines are really trying to screw us.

On My recent flight hom from california, traveling on United (the same airline I had issues with last time and the only reason I was flying them again was because they sent me vouchers from the last incident.) with all 3 of my kids and no Roy I was confronted with the issue of all 3 kids trying to fall asleep at the same time. As I watched their heads bob back and forth or considered the pain they were in laying on the arm rests I asked the stewardess if they had any pillows and blankets, remembering that I had seem some in First Class. Our Conversation:

Me "Do you have any pillows and blankets?" pointing at my drifting children
Stewardess "Oh no, we dont offer those anymore because of the Swine Flu"
Me "I saw some in first class"
Stewardess "Let me see if there are any left"

She of course comes back and hands me a few. What kind of a reply is that? they Swine Flu, of all excuses to use. I mean she was basically stating, in not so many words, that people that can afford first class are immune to the Swine Flu, and the rest of us common folk are not. What a load of... Even now thinking back on it I still cannot comprehend what stupid person came up with that excuse, was it something they were told by higher authorities or something she came up with on the spot. Either way, I am still thuroughly dissapointed in the airlines today. WOW they must think we are ignorant.

Texas Weather

Well I have to say that Texas has the most extreme weather. One minute its sunny and the nest you are watching the neighbors trampoline blow over your fence.

I was talking to my sister on the phone and all of the sudden rain was falling from the sky blowing sideways. Roy had just set a nes post from the last storm we had that blew over our fence. Our wheelbarow was blowing around and all my pation furniture. And as we were watching out the back window the neighbors trampoline started moving and blew right into our fence. as you can tell it is not a small trampoline. In the middle of the storm Roy is over there taking the trampoline down and disassembling it.

We called our friends Jeni and Tim Gandy to make sure everything was ok over there. They were not home during the storm but came home to an utter disaster. In this picture tanken from the Gandy home you can see straight through 3 back yards, the trampoline is flipped over with bags of something, not sure what it was, holding it down. Their fence was also blown completely over on the other side also.
We lost power for only about 2 hours so I guess we were considerably lucky, there was a tornado that touched down at the walmart in the neighboring city and they lost power for I don't know how long. We had ordered pizza not more than 30 minutes before this storm but sad to say it was unable to be delivered.
While talking to my sister on my cell phone trying to figure out when the storm was going to be over, I was assured that we had seen the worst of it and it was done, not more than a 10 minute storm. But as I tried to sleep last night I couldnot because of the fierce thunder and lightning ALL NIGHT LONG. And what did I get to wake up to this morning? MORE RAIN. Well its not as bad as it wats last night, but with Roy going out of town basically all week its hard to keep the kids cooped up in the house all day.
Well that is my drama for the week.

Memorial Day

This morning the girls and I headed to a Memorial Day Celebration in Gridley with Roy's family. As we are driving there the girls are, of course, asking every question they can think of, so I start explaining;

Me: "Memorial day is the day we remember all the people that fought in the wars"

Emma: "What is a war?"

Me: "A war is where people fight and lots of people die"

Emma: "good people or bad people?"

Me: "Both, good people and bad people fight in a war and some get killed"

So we find our seats and the Ceremony starts with some beautiful music and Memorial Services. Emma and I head to the back where the shade is and stand there for a while. After about 30 minutes of being there Emma looks up at me and says,

"When are they going to start killing eachother?"

WOW! I could not help but laugh out loud and I hope that no one else heard her. I promply discussed with her the fact that this was just a time to remember what happened not that they were going to fight and kill right then.

What will that girl come up with next?

Reminiscing

I was going through all my pictures on my computer the other day and it got me to thinking about each of my children as they were born and have grown up. I look at sarah now and think, she looks a lot like Ann Marie did when she was born, but I get a lot of people tell me she looks like Emma. So I thought I would post a few pictures and let you all decide. Oh and I've made a little game to play, guess the baby. Answers at the bottom, don't cheat!

Answers: 1-Ann Marie, 2-Sarah, 3-Emma

Sarah, 4 months

I just realized that I have not posted very many pictures of Sarah on my blog. I blame my sister as she refuses to send me the pictures she took of Sarah at 1 month. So here are a few pictures that I have take recently.

When I Get Creative

It is a lot easier to do things when Emma is at preschool. So today I decided to be creative and use some of my Stampin Up products that I have recently purchased.

Here are my end results

Roy's 30th Birthday

Since Roy is finally an old man I had to plan something extra special for his birthday. I tried to go for a theme of Kids type games, but with an Adult twist.

Rule #1: Take the Birthday boy and give him a good beating.

Rule #2: Make sure and enjoy yourself while your're doing it

Rule #3: Have a little good, messy fun
Rule #4: LAUGH!

Rule #5: Wonder who your real friends are when they give you wierd, and extremely oversized gifts.

And last but not least
Rule #6: Make sure to take embarassing pictures and videos of your friends that they are sure to regret later

Top Blue Eagle

Over this past weekend Roy and I had a very special opportunity to go to Washington DC. It was amazing, we stayed in the Grand Hyatt on H and 11th street, only a few blocks from the National Mall. We were able to walk from the Capital Building all the way to the Lincoln Memorial in less than 4 hours. We got to see the WWII memorial, Washington Monument, Veitnam Wall and the Smithsonian. Although the trip was only a few days it was a wonderful adventure.

Why were we so blessed to go? Roy, being the hard worker he is, was given the Commisioners Award for Top Blue Eagle in 2008. He was given this award for his pest inspections and research on the Capra Beattle (not sure if I spelled it right), a very nasty storage pest.

Even more amazing...we got to leave the two older girls home with Roy's aunt and uncle in Mckinney. Thank you very much Tracey and Glenda.

This is a picture of Sarah at the Award Ceremony. She was so cute with her guest pass badge on, we each had to have one to attend.

I forgot my camera at home so I will have to post more pictures later.

Too Smart!

Emma is too smart for a 4 year old and I think this story may show you a little of our parenting style, that she obviously learned from.

I had just put the girls down for naps and I went down stairs to fold clothes. I looked up and saw Emma standing there with something in her hand. she said "Ill give you a treat if you let me stay up." "what kind of treat?" I asked, and she help up a quarter. It was so cute that I couldn't resist, and I let her have quiet time instead of nap time.

Lately she has been trying that trick a lot, she likes to try giving us stipulations. I guess maybe we bribe our kids too much.
